One day you can button your jeans with ease, and the next you’re rigging them together with a hair elastic. While ingenious, that solution only lasts so long, am I right? Congratulations, you have now entered into the maternity clothes era of your pregnancy. Honestly, buying clothes when you’re pregnant is the worst. Not only are you having to navigate your growing body but you now also have to update your entire wardrobe. What a pain! Ordering online is a bit of a gamble, so where can you go in person? If you’re looking for maternity stores in Boston and some surrounding areas, I’ve got you. Let’s make this easy so that you can find the best store(s) for you!
A quick Google search will come up with many stores that seemingly sell maternity wear in Boston. However, as you start digging, you’ll find that there are very few brick-and-mortar stores in Boston where you can buy clothes that fit your pregnant belly. This fact boggles my mind and is incredibly frustrating! Determined to find a few options, I called multiple stores that popped up; however, pretty much every single one said they don’t have maternity wear. As if it isn’t already hard enough to just be pregnant in general! To provide some solutions, I’ll share with you the few places that I found that actually sell maternity clothes in-store, and I’ll also highlight a few great online options as well.

Nearly every Target location has a maternity section, and this is a great option for most pregnant people. Their Isabel Maternity line has pieces for dressing up, staying casual + comfy, different stages of pregnancy, and nursing friendly choices! Who doesn’t need an excuse to grab yourself a starbs and hit up your local Target?
This gem in Bridgewater MA is going to get it’s own blog post one day because it’s that amazing. Keeping pace is your one stop shop for pretty much everything baby and kids. Their new location has a large section of maternity clothes and the staff at the store are always helpful. This thrift store is beautiful, expansive, well organized, and clean. What more could you ask for? Do yourself a favor and make the drive to Keeping Pace, you won’t regret it!
Writing this post has me remembering that I once drove all the way to Melrose to this little store to find maternity clothes. It’s a small shop but they carry a great selection of quality consigned items. Check out their instagram page to see a bit of what they have to offer.
If you want to save on shipping, many stores like Old Navy, Gap, and Abercrombie have options to ship directly to one of their locations.
Of course, there are many amazing online stores that sell maternity clothes!
Oh Boston, why must you be so amazing yet somehow also so frustrating at the same time? I wish I understood why there aren’t many physical maternity stores in Boston. Hopefully my advice saves you from running around town when you’re probably already exhausted!
